Thi Hien Nguyen-Khac

Deputy Head of Asia-ex-Japan, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority

Thi Hien Nguyen-Khac joined ADIA  ( Abu Dhabi Investment Authority ) on April 1st, 2008 as Deputy Head of Asia-ex-Japan.  Together with the Head of Asia-ex-Japan, she is responsible for managing the overall internal assets allocated to equities in Asia-ex-Japan. The team consists of 15 portfolio managers and analysts. She also head the Global Resources team from 2008 to 2010.

Before joining ADIA, she held the position of Senior Portfolio Manager, Asia at Nordea Investment Management based in Copenhagen, Denmark (2006 – 2008). Prior to that, she worked at Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec based in Montreal, Canada( 1995 – 2006) where she  held a variety of positions starting  as an Energy analyst and in 2000 hold the position of Director & Portfolio Manager Asia. She also worked for SOQUIP  ( 1991-1995) as Director Technology & Development , Ecofix (1990-1991) as Vice-President, Technology& development and for Petro-Canada (1980-1990) in process engineering, supply and distribution and retail marketing.

Mrs. Nguyen-Khac holds an executive MBA from Concordia University, a Master of Engineering degree from Mc Gill University and received her Bachelor of Engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal with High Distinction. She also has the CFA designation.

She was past Director on the Board of the Foundation of Lindsay Hospital ( 2002-2006), past member of the Surveillance Board of Gestion Ferique ( Quebec Order of Engineers fund) (1993-2003), past member of the Advisory Board of Concordia University Faculty of commerce and Administration (1997-2001).

She was also very active as speaker at universities; acted as judge at the International MBA Case competition and has been a grader for the CFA.

Mrs. Nguyen-Khac is married with two children and enjoys watercolor painting, poetry and swimming.
