 \n\nThe McGill Alumni Association of Germany welcomes you to continue with
  the Canada Day celebrations with fellow alumni and compatriots in Kühlung
 sborn and Bad Doberan!\n\nJoin us for a special tour and day on the Baltic
 \, with tour guide and Hotelier on the Baltic\, Albrecht Kurbjuhn\, BA'79.
  This is wonderful opportunity to meet fellow McGillians and enjoy each ot
 hers' company.\n\n \n\nIMPORTANT:\n\nPlease note that participants are res
 ponsible for the cost of all activities\, fares\, meals and hotel accommod
 ations. \n\nThere is no cost to join the tour\, but registration is requir
 ed .\n\nRegister\n\n \n\nDAY ITINERARY\n\n10:30 The tour will start in the
  Garten Lounge of the Hotel Polar-Stern Ostseeallee 24\, 18225 Ostseebad K
 ühlungsborn with a welcome by Albrecht and Dagmar\, and an introduction to
  Kühlungsborn and environs ('German Riviera'). A welcome coffee/drink will
  be served.\n\n11:00 Walk along the historic Ostseeallee and promenade to 
 the pier and marina. Stop at the Konzertgarten Ost and watch tower museum 
 from times of the GDR ('Grenzturm').\n\n12:00 Stop for snacks at the marin
 a.\n\n12:20 Walk along the main street 'Strandstrasse' with many shops and
  restaurants to the 'Molli' train station.\n\n12:44 Depart with the histor
 ic steam train 'Molli' to Bad Doberan via Heiligendamm. Experience the rid
 e through the narrow streets of Bad Doberan. \n\n(Return train fare of € 1
 7.50 is payable on site)\n\n13:14 Arrival in Bad Doberan and walk to the C
 istercian minster from the 12th century\, amid the well maintained histori
 c walls of the former monastery. The minster's fittings\, fixtures and alt
 ers were almost completely spared during the Reformation\, when most other
  churches were ransacked.\n\n15:39 Return to Kühlungsborn with the 'Molli'
 .\n\n16:13 Arrival back in Kühlungsborn\, time for guests to check-in to t
 heir hotel.\n\n(Participants are responsible for booking their own accommo
 dations).\n\n19:00 Dinner at Bülows Steak Restaurant in the Hotel Polar-St
 ern with optional wine tasting.\n\n21:00 Optional after-dinner drinks in t
 he GartenLounge or walk to the beach to enjoy the sunset over the Baltic S
 ea.\n
