DESCRIPTION:Tiered Governance of Food Convergent Innovation Platforms: Chal
lenges and Possibilities in Private and Public Creation and Capture of Eco
nomic and Social Value in Complex Science\, Technology\, and Innovation Co
llaboration\n\n \n\nAbstract\n\nThis webinar will discuss challenges and p
ossibilities for public and private value creation and capture of social a
nd economic value that typify complex science\, technology and innovation
collaboration\, such as open sciences ecosystem in medicine and food conve
rgent innovation platforms. As a form of meta-innovation—an innovation in
the way we innovate\, convergent innovation (CI) integrates human and econ
omic development outcomes and place their convergence as the upfront drive
r of commercial innovation and business strategy. At  the same time\, CI
fosters behavioral and ecosystem transformation throughout society to ens
ure lasting supply and demand for these innovations through the creation o
f platforms for collective action that facilitate the simultaneous pursuit
of private and public value. It does so through a portfolio of time-bound
\, goal-oriented projects that align with each actor’s interests and capab
ilities while enabling societal-scale solutions.  The webinar will propose
a tiered-governance framework to guide the creation and operation of thes
e platforms that seeks to balance participating actors’ converging and con
 flicting interests.\n\n \n\nRichard Gold\, S.J.D. LL.M.\,\n\nFull Professo
