Overview of Information Technology Management (formerly Information Systems)

Organizations across the world rely on information systems graduates to design, implement and manage their IT. As a McGill Information Technology Management (ITM) student, you’ll develop the know-how to commence your career in an in-demand industry.

The ITM major will prepare you for a multitude of IT-related career opportunities available across industries. Using a blend of theoretical concepts, hands-on tools, and actual case studies, the ITM major will give you the toolkit needed to identify business problems and opportunities, analyze business processes, and develop and implement information systems to support them.

You will also gain an in-depth understanding of a variety of topics including strategic planning and investment in information technologies, the analysis, design, and deployment of information systems, understanding the opportunities and challenges of Web-based businesses, and managing resistance to IT-initiated changes in organizations.
