New entrance to the Bensadoun School of Retail Management on McTavish Street
Since the announcement of the transformative $25 million gift from Aldo Bensadoun (BCom’64, LLD’12) through the Bensadoun Family Foundation, in 2017, faculty members and staff have been working hard to bring the vision of the Bensadoun School of Retail Management (BSRM) to life.
We are reaching the final stages of building the BSRM’s physical infrastructure within the Bronfman Building. Among the facilities will be the new McGill Retail Innovation Lab—a 2,300 square-foot multi-sensorial space where students, researchers and industry partners will explore diverse aspects of a retail operation including consumer behaviour, customer segmentation, data analysis, engagement and sustainability.
In terms of academic programming, we launched a BCom Concentration in Retail Management and a PhD in Retail Management. We recently received government approval to launch a new Master of Management in Retailing, designed from the perspective of the customer journey and experience. We strongly believe that this approach has never been so pertinent, and that it will give students the tools to pursue innovative solutions to organizational and societal challenges. We are also working toward launching the executive education component of the BSRM, offering both open-enrollment courses and customized programs suited to the particular needs of organizations.
McGill has taken its first steps toward our vision of being the world’s premier school dedicated to the future of retail. We are proud of what has been accomplished to date, thanks, in large part, to your generous support.
