New financial skills workshop at McGill Dobson Centre

The McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship’s recent Startup Financials workshop gave attendees a solid basis from which to build out financial projections, which can be the weakest link in many business plans. Expert presenters included pros from White Star Capital, Appetite (Honorable Mention at the 2016 Dobson Cup), and of course, National Bank.

Attendees were treated to Q&A sessions, as well as to nuggets of wisdom that ranged from the value of approaching experts for advice to “cash flow is the name of the game.” White Star’s Edouard Gaussen gave the audience an in-depth view of what he looks for as a venture capitalist, as well as when it’s best to look for VC help, and what the Montreal VC scene looks like.
