Come celebrate our 2SLGBTQIA+ graduates of the Class of 2023 as they begin the next chapter of their lives. The event will include a reception with refreshments and music, performances, speeches, and certificates presented to each student.

All graduating 2SLGBTQIA+ students (undergraduate, graduate and continuing studies) are invited to attend this event with friends and family. The event is open to the McGill community, and alumni are encouraged to join the celebration and welcome the new graduates to the Alumni network.

Childcare will be offered during the event for those that need it.

ABOUT THIS EVENT:

The Lavender Graduation Ceremony is an annual celebration that honours the achievements and contributions of McGill's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Pansexual, Questioning, Two Spirit, Non-Binary, and Asexual (2SLGBTQIA+) graduates, and their allies and families.

This event is organized by the Joint Board-Senate Equity Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee on Queer People, the Equity Team and the McGill Queer Alum Association.

GUEST SPEAKER:

Tim Thompson is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Evolution and Change Enablement (CECE) a part of Corporate Transformation and Operations (CTO), TD Bank Group. The CECE team includes multiple areas of focus for the corporate areas: digitization, automation and innovation, business architecture, process optimization and journeys, change management, business analysis and location strategy.

In addition to his business line responsibilities, Tim is Chair of TD's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirit (LGBTQ2+) Executive Steering
Committee, Board Member of the Governor General Leadership Conference and Chair of the McGill University Toronto Advisory Board.

Tim has been recognized for three consecutive years (2018-2020) as a Yahoo! Finance OUTstanding LGBT+ Role Model.
