In recent years, specialized masters degrees in management have proliferated alongside the classic MBA degree. Both students and employers now have to make sense of an array of certifications. For the prospective student trying to decide how to invest in their education, this can be daunting.

In this lecture, Professor Ferguson will put the MBA and newer degrees in historical perspective and discuss how changes in the labor market have shifted employer demand for these different degrees. The emphasis will be on the labor market signal of an MBA in a world where multiple graduate degrees now exist.
