On November 5, 2024, Montreal’s Beanfield Theatre filled up for the third edition of MUHC’s Got Talent, where MUHC healthcare workers swapped their lab coats for the spotlight, performing to support causes close to their hearts. Organized by the MUHC Foundation, this event has raised over $1.23 million since its inception in 2022, supporting various initiatives from women’s health to respiratory care.
This year’s top talent prize went to Dr. Don Vinh’s patient’s family member Victoria Hindley (top right) who delivered an unforgettable performance, raising significant funds for the Centre for Research in Infection and Immunity. Meanwhile, Power Hub Choir, a group led by Dr. Judy Luu (left), earned third place in the talent contest and the top spot as the evening’s highest fundraiser. “The energy in the room was electric,” Dr. Luu noted. “It was so inspiring because we really do put our whole hearts into our work, and we wanted to bring that passion onto the stage.”
The Fan Favourite award went to Dr. Linda Ofiara and Dr. Stephane Beaudoin’s Lung Dancers, whose performance resonated with the crowd and left a lasting impact (bottom right).
Congratulations to McGill DOM faculty Dr. Vinh, Dr. Luu, Dr. Ofiara, and Dr. Beaudoin for their award-winning performances and fundraising efforts for these important causes. Marie-Hélène Laramée, President and CEO of the MUHC Foundation, highlighted the event’s impact: “MUHC’s Got Talent truly brings together the entire MUHC community—whether it’s our multi-talented health care workers or our patients.” “I am deeply grateful to our performers, my team,” said Laramée. “And everyone who contributed or attended.”
