Biography

Dr. Benhamou is currently an Associate Professor supervising our GPR students and a Faculty lead in global outreach activities. Dr. Benhamou received a B.Sc. and D.D.S. degree from McGill University. She obtained a specialty certificate in periodontology and implant surgery in 1989. Dedicated to teaching, she is very involved with continuing dental education worldwide. She was the recipient of the W.W. Wood Award for “excellence in Dental Education”, the “2005 Educator Award” from the AAP and the 2009 Howard Katz Award for “excellence in Teaching” and the 2014 the”Ralph Silverstone Teaching award”.  She is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and Fellow and Speaker of the ITI and a member of numerous professional organizations.  Besides her commitment  to education for the past 30 years, her position as past Division Director of the Division of Periodontics of McGill University dental School and her extensive knowledge of our Faculty’s procedures and policies are invaluable in her role in the division of Periodontics.
