How can I become a patient?
You can apply to become a patient by filling out an application form and sending it in.
How long will it take before I get an appointment?
Depending on your needs and our teaching requirements, the waiting period is between 1 and 6 months.
How long are the appointments?
The appointments are approximately 3-4 hours long, 9:00-12:00 in the morning and 1:00-5:00 in the afternoon.
Do you do Implants?
We do implants in 2 situations. The first situation is to replace a maximum of 2 adjacent missing teeth. The other situation is 2 implants to support a lower denture.
Do you do braces or orthodontic treatments?
Yes, but only for simple cases. You must call (514) 398-5189 for information and a screening appointment.
How long will my treatment take?
Because this is a teaching clinic, you must expect more visits compared to a private clinic. We prefer if patients are available at least once every 2 weeks. Depending on the treatment needed, it may vary from 1 month to 1 year. Don’t forget that the clinic runs from September to May only.
Can I go to your clinic for regular cleanings only?
No. If you only need a cleaning, it is not worth it for you to come to our clinic. We only accept patients that require several treatments. Dental hygiene teaching clinics offer check-ups, x-rays and cleanings at a lower cost.

If your treatment is completed in one visit, the payment is required the same day.
If a treatment requires many visits, patients will be asked to pay half of the total amount at the first visit and the balance when the treatment is completed.
Do you accept dental insurance?
We can provide patients with forms for private dental insurance.
I am covered by Medicare or am receiving Social Assistance. Can I apply to be a patient?
People receiving social assistance or covered by medicare (RAMQ) are not covered in our clinic. The Government does not pay for treatment in our clinic. Most patients who receive social assistance can obtain basic dental care in a private dental office at no cost. Patients choosing to be treated in the McGill University Dental Clinic are responsible for paying the entire cost of their treatment themselves.
Is the clinic less expensive than a regular dentist?
Our fees are approximately 50% less than in a private clinic.
Are you open at night or on weekends?

Where is the clinic located?
The McGill University Dental Clinic is located at 2001 Mcgill College Avenue on the corner of Sherbrooke. Reception is on the 1st floor, suite 104.

By public transportation: The clinic is accessible by McGill Metro station and Bus line 24.
