Congratulations to Dr. Christophe Bedos, who was awarded the Canadian Association of Public Health Dentistry (CAPHD)'s 2022 Honorary Award. The award recognizes the efforts of individuals who have made a substantive contribution to public health dentistry at the provincial or national level.
In his nomination letter, professor Dr. Paul Allison stated that Dr. Bedos "has dedicated his career to providing dental care for people who have difficulty accessing such care or working behind the scenes to promote improved access. Christophe has used highly original approaches that have always been centred on the individuals and groups he was interested in helping."
Some of Dr. Bedos' work includes research on developing a model of social dentistry known as the "Montreal-Toulouse Model", advocating for the use art and cartoons to communicate and promote science and knowledge transfer through his work as co-Director of the Réseau de recherche en santé buccodentaire et osseuse, and developing a plan for the use of social prescription linked to dental care.
