Facebook Canada and Ontario Tech University Launch the Global Network Against Hate

Published: 2 August 2020

Facebook Canada, who is a partner on the iMPACTS Project, announced that they are partnering with Ontario Tech University’s Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism to launch the Global Network Against Hate. The five-year, $500,000 program will help advance the Centre’s work researching violent extremism, based on ethnic, racial, gender and other forms of prejudice, including how it spreads and how to stop it. Launching the Global Network Against Hate also enables the creation of a new position at the Centre to facilitate global partnerships and knowledge sharing focused on researching, understanding and preventing hate, bias and extremism online and off.
