Gurbet Karahan

I started my research career at Bilkent University, one of the leading research universities in Turkey, as a PhD student with a full admission scholarship, working in a cancer epigenetics lab. I came to Montreal, after receiving my PhD, to broaden my scientific knowledge and vision in a richer environment, joining Dr.Trasler’s lab in 2016. I recently received the Ferring Pharmaceutical Postdoctoral Fellowship Award and I am currently working on the interaction of paternal factors (environmental and/or genetic), the use of assisted reproductive technologies, and their effect on embryonic and epigenetic outcomes. During my PhD studies, I mentored several undergraduate and master students. Now, as a postdoctoral fellow with more experience, I want to be involved in this good initiative to help graduate students to find their own way in research and life.
