Soh-yon is a graduate from the Arts and Science Undergraduate Program at McGill University, majoring in Cell Biology and Economics. She joined the CRCF in May 2013 as a research assistant on the Parenting Matters! The Biopsychosocial Contect of Parenting Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) in Canada program of research. Since then, she has been involved in multiple different projects, including a Social Determinants of Health project of children with developmental disabilities, a systematic literature review of parenting children with NDD, a clinical study.
She has always been passionate about the topic of developmental disabilities through her childhood experiences and volunteering in communities with youth/adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is interested in delving deeper into the topics of inclusive post-secondary education for students with developmental disabilities. Her research interests include post-secondary education for people with disabilities, maximization of opportunities for people with disabilities, and transition into adulthood of employment or further education in people with disabilities.
