Eliane Nevares

Eliane Nevares is a Social Worker from Vancouver, British Columbia. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of British Columbia in 2017. Prior to this, her most relevant volunteer experience included but was not limited to working with the Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of British Columbia and the Victim Assistance Unit with the New Westminster Police Department. She also worked as a Behavioural Interventionist with the Family Centred Practices Group, as a Youth Outreach Coordinator with the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver, and completed a practicum with the UBC Learning Exchange, The Binners’ Project, and Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS) as a Family Preservation Counselor. After graduating with her BSW in 2017, Eliane was hired by VACFSS as a Child Protection Social Worker. She hopes to incorporate her diverse experiences in the field as a new member with the Centre for Research on Children and Families. Eliane recently joined CRCF in September 2019 and is looking forward to getting involved with innovative research initiatives. Now completing her Masters of Social Work at McGill University and working as a Teacher’s Assistant for Mental Health and Illness BSW class, Eliane is excited about progressing in her career. Her professional interests moving forward continue to have a strong emphasis on children and families.
