Claire Lawrence joined the CRCF in June 2018 as a research assistant supporting Dr. Marjorie Rabiau. With Dr. Rabiau, Claire is involved in research surrounding service prioritization of social and mental health services for trans youth and their families in Montreal. Claire is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Civil Law/Bachelor of Laws with the McGill Faculty of Law, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Victoria. During her first year at McGill, Claire became involved with the Clinique Juridique Trans/Trans Legal Clinic through the Faculty of Law and joined the executive team where she helps coordinate workshops and clinics for trans community members in Montreal seeking legal information. Claire became involved with the School of Social Work when she joined the Trans Youth and Families Journal Watch where she enjoyed reviewing and discussing recent academic research related to trans youth and families with other members of the McGill community. Claire’s research interests include the well-being of trans people of all ages, with a specific interest in access to social services and legal aid.
