DESCRIPTION:Evidence suggests that child maltreatment is associated with ex
ternalizing\, antisocial\, and criminal behaviour\, although the mechanism
s explaining this association remain poorly understood. In this seminar\,
three related studies will be presented that together aimed to (1) deepen
current understanding of the relationship between maltreatment and behavio
ur problems\, and to (2) understand the potential intervening role of chil
d welfare services in influencing this relationship. With few Canadian stu
dies in this area\, this research provides a unique picture of the Canadia
n context and a foundation from which future research can expand.\n\nFor m
