Psychological Support

Our counsellors and psychologists help students with a wide range of personal issues, including but are not limited to self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger, grief, sexuality, relationships and family. Whatever the case may be, our counsellors will listen closely to your concerns while providing empathy, support, encouragement and guidance. Most importantly, they will work with you to develop strategies that better deal with your personal challenges. To learn more about our methods to the counselling process, please see our approach

Some students may be concerned that their difficulties are too insignificant to warrant counselling, or that their problem has no solution. Counselling Services is a good place to discuss these questions in a confidential and non-judgmental environment. In all cases, we will do our best to assist you in exploring your concerns or guide you to alternate resources should a referral be appropriate.

Individual counselling is available, and students can request either a male or female counsellor depending on their preference.

Please note: To access services, you must be currently enrolled and paying the Student Services fee. The fee is automatically charged to the student account of undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows every fall and winter term. Certain other categories of students may opt to pay a fee to use the services.
