 n    IMPORTANT:  Students who have no knowledge of French\, or a very limi
 ted knowledge of the language\, do not need to take the placement test. Th
 ey must sign a waiver (see below) attesting that they have no knowledge of
  French\, or only a very minimal knowledge of it. They will then be regist
 ered in a Basic French course (CFRN 102). However\, the department has the
  right to transfer any student to another level if the waiver does not ref
 lect his or her true level.Signed waivers must be returned to our office a
 s soon as possible to guarantee the student a place in the session.
