 egister now.    An exercise in how to understand the buildings that Montre
 alers walk past every day\, this session will go beyond looking to reading
  and decoding—when and why was that building designed and built that way? 
 Who built it? In the first part of the session\, participants will learn h
 ow to observe a building in the downtown area using images and a site visi
 t. The second part of the session will focus on how to find out more about
  that building and its Montreal neighbourhood.    Facilitator  Nancy Dunto
 n is a consultant specialising in the presentation of projects on architec
 ture including conferences\, architectural walking tours\, and exhibitions
 . Active in the management of organisations and architectural projects sin
 ce 1981\, she was Head of University and Professional Programmes for the C
 anadian Centre for Architecture from 1997 to 2005. Co-author\, with Helen 
 Malkin\, of A Guidebook to Contemporary Architecture in Montreal\, publish
 ed in 2008\, she currently teaches Reading the City: Montreal and Its Neig
 hbourhoods at the McGill School of Architecture and Design Theory at Dawso
 n College. Her volunteer activities include serving on the Board of Direct
 ors of Heritage Montreal.
