Biography: 

Dr. Kamal S. Salmasi is the Academic Director of the Management and Entrepreneurship domain at the School of Continuing Studies of McGill University.

He has nearly 25 years of business experience and more than 20 years of experience teaching and researching in management and mining. He has served as the CEO of a cement company, the VP of a mineral export company, and the Chairman of a management-consulting firm. He was also an advisor to Iran’s Ministry of Industries and Mines and contributed to drafting the country’s new mining code and foreign investment law.

His publications and professional contributions include co-authoring two book chapters and more than 30 articles, including an award-winner paper http://www.jstor.org/stable/40229142.

Dr. Salmasi has two degrees with honours and received several honours and awards, including the J. B. Harrington Study grant, the James Douglas Research Fellowship, a Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) grant, Post-Doctoral Fellowship at McGill Desautels Faculty of Management, and the Outstanding Provincial Industrial Manager award.

He is a published author, an award-winning manager, and a member of several professional societies, including IFSAM (International Federation of Scholarly Association of Management), MEMS (Mineral Economics and Management Society), AIB (Academy of International Business), CEA/ACE (Canadian Economics Association), CIM (Canadian Institute of Management | Chartered Managers Canada), and PDAC (Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada).
