Biography

Garrfield Du Couturier-Nichol comes to McGill with a strong background in management and staff training in government, industry and academia. He has taught social psychology, organizational behaviour and managing organizational teams at McGill's School of Continuing Studies, and has twice been nominated by his students for the Distinguished Teaching Award.

He has degrees in psychology and human relations, and was for many years responsible for training Montreal elections staff. He also spent nine years travelling extensively with Elections Canada's international observation staff.

He is active with community groups, and was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013 for his work with the elderly and socially disadvantaged. Du Couturier-Nichol currently works in the field of palliative care as part of his community involvement.
