Free Language Courses for Forcibly Displaced Individuals and Refugees

Unfortunately, we have reached our capacity and have no more seats left to offer at this time.

The McGill School of Continuing Studies is now offering free English and French language courses to forcibly displaced individuals and refugees. If you are a forcibly displaced individual or a refugee, we want to help you improve your language skills in either French or English to facilitate your integration in our local communities and increase your chances of finding a promising job.

We offer a free placement test and one free 6-week in-person group course in either English (all levels) or French (beginner level). These general language courses with a focus on oral communication are taught by experienced instructors from McGill.

Please note:

  • Students can only take one free course
  • Spaces are limited and will be offered to students based on availability and language level as determined by the placement test
  • Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age in order to take the course
