Start: June 2018
End: Completed
Building on the enhancements the City of Montreal made on McTavish St. in 2017 as part of its Promenade urbaine project, McGill will restore and redesign the area around the McTavish Gates, which link McTavish St. to lower campus.
The project includes the restoration of the gates themselves, the replacement of two underground water mains, the waterproofing of the north side of the Redpath Hall foundation and the restoration of its front steps. The area will be redesigned, the drainage capacity will be improved, as will the signage and the lighting, and urban furniture will be added (seating, bike racks, hydraulic bollards).
