Macdonald-Stewart Library Building

Start of project: September 2017

End of project: Completed

The Macdonald-Stewart Library Building houses the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Engineering. A single air-handling system, located in the Frank Dawson Adams Building, has been serving the Schulich Library, the main auditorium of the Adams Building and multiple offices in the Adams Building. These three areas, however, have different needs.

This project consists of replacing the 34-year-old single system with three independent systems. The air-mixing boxes in the Library Building will also be replaced to accommodate the changing needs of the building due to an increasing density of students.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Post-secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund.
