Start of project: February 2017
End of project: Completed
The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in Burnside Hall date back to the building’s construction in 1970. They are outdated, don’t function well and don’t provide adequate comfort to the occupants.
This projects consists of the replacement of the building’s three HVAC systems and air mixing boxes (the units used to mix and control the air flow inside the rooms) and the addition of a fourth system for the parking garage. Motion sensors will also be installed, ducts will be cleaned and sealed and some electrical installations will be replaced. New digital controls will be integrated to improve the efficiency of the ventilation systems, thus providing energy savings as well as enhanced comfort.
