About the Virtual Food Lab

Our start

Since the Fall of 2017, McGill University has offered the Virtual Food Product Development Laboratory, an academic-industrial collaborative initiative for innovative food product development.

Our mission

Our mission is to develop collaborative projects that train, equip and inspire our students with hands-on experience while supporting the growth of the Montréal agri-food community, from entrepreneurs, to start-ups to corporations.

Our personalized customer-based approach begins with an idea generation, conceptualizing different formulations (screening, data analysis), followed by customer evaluations of product prototypes and optimization.
