Concerts are scheduled throughout the year for McGill Conservatory students in the Clara Lichtenstein Recital Hall, Redpath Hall, Tanna Schulich Hall and Pollack Concert Hall. The main concert months are December, March, and May for instrumental students. Suzuki program students also perform several times during the year. The Spring Examination Gala concerts feature those students (internal and external) who have placed highest in all levels at spring examinations. A Staff Gala concert to benefit the McGill Conservatory Scholarship Fund takes place every two years in the spring. Exact dates are published in the McGill Conservatory annual flyer Concerts and Events, which is sent to each registering student. In addition, the Schulich School of Music of McGill University offers a wide variety of concerts by staff and students.

Each year the McGill Conservatory sponsors several student workshops conducted by senior staff from the Schulich School of Music of McGill University or by well known Canadian and American clinicians. Workshops are open to McGill Conservatory students enrolled in practical instruction at appropriate levels, depending on the particular workshop. Students may be selected by their teachers to perform or they may audit the workshop. A small fee is charged for either of the above forms of participation.
