Congratulations to Dr. Ruth Sapir-Pichhadze and co-authors from the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and University of Alberta, whose infographic figure was selected for the September 2019 cover of the journal Transplantation!
Their scoping review in this issue concludes that, despite a growing awareness of the need to integrate sex and gender in health research, education is required to ensure accurate and meaningful consideration of these concepts. The authors outline strategies for integrating sex and gender in allotransplantation and donation research during study design and analysis.
Co-authors from the RI-MUHC include Drs. Bethany Foster and Louise Pilote, as well as research trainees Tida Marenah, Cassandra Crimi, Dr. Katherine Cole, and Vikas Srinivasan Sridhar. Dr. Lori West, from the University of Alberta, is director of the Canadian Donation and Transplant Research Program.
