CIRM is proud to contribute as a partner to the international conference 1971-2021: 50 ans de corpus montréalais. This event organized by Hélène Blondeau (U. of Florida), Marty Laforest (UQTR), and Wim Remysen (CIRM / U. de Sherbrooke) marks the 50th anniversary of the French-language corpus Montréal 1971, which has left its mark on modern sociolinguistics. Guests of honour include sociolinguists Henrietta Cedergren, Gillian Sankoff, Pierrette Thibault, and Diane Vincent, as well as mathematician and linguist David Sankoff.

Landmark $15-million gift commitment from McGill alumnus Marc Bieler to the School of Environment will bolster environmental scholarship, research and outreach

Avec énormément de rigueur scientifique et de patience, comme en font foi les travaux de recherche de Salwa Karboune, professeure adjointe et doyenne à la recherche au département des sciences des aliments et d’agriculture à l’Université McGill. « Nous savons aujourd’hui que le microbiote intestinal est, en quelque sorte, le cerveau de notre santé », affirme Mme Karboune. C’est pourquoi il est si important d’étudier les composés qui favorisent la santé intestinale.

 It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Dr. Terry-Nan Tannenbaum passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 17, 2016 surrounded by her family.  Terry was as an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine.

As of today, 25,000 Syrian refugees will have arrived in Canada fleeing their war-torn country. Approximately 7,300 of those will stay in Quebec. Chunip Koo, a clinician nurse at the Montreal Neurological Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre (MNH-MUHC), and Dr. Zinab Gouda, physician in the Transitional Care Team and Secondary Care division of the MUHC Department of Family Medicine,  describe their experience.
