Professor Ferri Hassani and his PhD student, Hamed Rafezi, won the 2019 William and Rhea Seath Award in Engineering Innovation by McGill University Faculty of Engineering for the project entitled Tricone Bit Wear Monitoring and Failure Prediction.

As an entrepreneurial geologist, Bob Wares, (BSc’79, DSc’12), became a mining rock star when he discovered one of Canada’s largest gold deposits in the Abitibi region of Quebec. Now, he is bringing that Midas touch to his alma mater in the form of a landmark $5-million gift that will support research programs, fellowships, innovative research, a lecture series and outreach efforts in McGill University’s Faculty of Science, with a particular focus on his home department, Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS).

McGill University is the world’s third-best university for the study of Anatomy & Physiology, behind only the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, according to the 2017 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The seventh edition of QS Quacquarelli Symonds’s analysis of subject-specific university performance, released today, lists the world’s best universities for the study of 46 different subjects. Anatomy & Physiology is one of four new subject categories introduced in this year’s listing.
