The McGill International Institute of Education (MIIE) welcomed 20 undergraduate students and three chaperones from the Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates to a two-week MIIE Summer Academy from June 26 to July 7, 2023.
The McGill International Institute of Education (MIIE) in cooperation with AFAQ for Leadership Development in the United Aram Emirates (UAE) completed a month-long course on “Course Design and Teaching Development” for 20 college level instructors. The program was offered in a blended learning format with regular virtual sessions between June 2nd and June 30th and intense face-to face instruction in Abu Dhabi, which included microteaching, from June 16th to June 20th.

For the first time in McGill’s history, students from China make up the largest contingent of international students.
American students have always held that distinction at McGill, but this year China jumped into the top spot.
Final fall enrolment numbers show 2864 students from China at McGill, followed by 2412 from the U.S. France rounds out the top three with 1886 students, while India is fourth with 736.
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, UoS, received on Sunday, a delegation from McGill University, Canada, at his office at the university.
During the meeting, the His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, welcomed the delegation and exchanged views on a number of scientific and intellectual issues. The parties also discussed ways of enhancing cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
