H. Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching
The H. Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching is designed to recognize outstanding teaching in the Faculty of Arts, and is awarded each June at Convocation. All full-time academic staff in the Faculty of Arts are eligible for this award. Any student, alumnus, or member of the academic staff may submit a nomination.

The Distinguished Teaching Award recipients Sujata Madan and Juan Serpa were honoured at McGill’s 2022 Management Convocation ceremony on June 1, for their excellence in teaching.
Prof. Morty Yalovsky started teaching at McGill in 1969 - the same year that the Montreal Expos played their first Major League Baseball game. The Expos moved on nearly two decades ago, but Prof. Yalovsky has been enriching university life ever since. On March 28, he was honoured with a Desautels Lifetime Service Award for more than five decades of service to the Desautels Faculty of Management.
Juan Camilo Serpa, Associate Professor of Operations Management, was recently recognized with the Principal’s Prize for Excellence in Teaching for an approach that engages students by asking them to use data analytics to see familiar data in novel ways.
First awarded in 2007 and generously supported by Paul Desmarais, Jr., the Desmarais Faculty Scholar Awards are given in three year cycles to leading Desautels finance researchers.
McGill recently recognized Nancy J. Adler with the Medal of Exceptional Academic Achievement for her prolific contributions to the University, the Desautels Faculty of Management, and the discipline of global leadership for more than 40 years.

Professor Alain Pinsonneault recently received the inaugural Henry Mintzberg PhD Teaching and Mentorship Award in recognition of his high-quality teaching and commitment to student progress. He was nominated for the honour by PhD students and alumni.
The award was created in 2018 to recognize Professor Henry Mintzberg’s 50 years of service to McGill.

Professor Desmond Tsang and Professor David Schumacher were selected as recipients of the 2017‐18 Desautels Distinguished Teaching Award for Undergraduate and Graduate teaching, respectively.
Their awards were officially presented at the May 31st Convocation Ceremony.

Henry Mintzberg has received the 2014 McGill University Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Learning for his extraordinary contributions to teaching and learning at the University over the last four decades.
