Professor Maryam Tabrizian has been inducted as a Fellow with the Royal Society of Canada. The Society announced the induction of 89 new Fellows today, each one elected by their peers in recognition of outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievement. Election to the Royal Society of Canada is the highest honour a scholar can achieve.

Two McGill Dentistry teams are working on getting their products to market. Assistant Professor Dr. Faleh Tamimi and his team and Postdoctoral fellow Dr. Ashwaq Al-Hashedi presented their projects at this year McGill Dobson Cup, an annual startup competition for the McGill community. A new study in mice suggests that scientists may someday be able to treat nerve pain by transplanting embryonic nerve cells to restore a broken nervous system.
