Le Canada prévoit attirer plus d'étudiants internationaux en renforçant sa présence à l'étranger afin de promouvoir la diversité des salles de classe et d'accroître les retombées économiques qui atteignent déjà des milliards de dollars par année.

Selon une analyse fédérale, les retombées économiques des étudiants étrangers ont presque doublé de 2010 à 2016, atteignant un total de 15,5 milliards. Cela va des frais de scolarité au loyer et à la facture d'épicerie.

For over two decades, the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) has invested in the most important Library needs of the undergraduate student body in order to enrich the student academic experience. This fund is administered by the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU) and is made up of a fee contribution of $8.50 per full-time student per semester, matched equally by alumni donors. The LIF goes towards 24hr library access, student employment, study spaces, Open Educational Resource Research, and a variety of other special projects.

A team of Canadian scientists, including researchers at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (The Neuro), has discovered the first French-Canadian founder mutation gene linked to synucleinopathies, a group of neurodegenerative diseases that includes Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy-Bodies (DLB) and multiple system atrophy (MSA).

Professor Arun K. Misra recently received the Dirk Brouwer Award "for his outstanding and lasting contributions to astrodynamics of tethered satellite systems, flexible spacecraft, spacecraft orbiting asteroids, robotics for orbital assembly and debris capture." The Dirk Brouwer Award was established by the American Astronautical Society to honour significant technical contributions to space flight mechanics and astrodynamics. Professor Misra is the winner of this award for 2017. Dirk Brouwer Award.
