A major power failure today, April 16th, is affecting a large section of the downtown campus. We expect power to be restored by 10:30 a.m.

McGill Community for Lifelong Learning (MCLL) Lecture Lecturer: Mimi Caouette Time: June 6, 10:00 am La Muséologue fait référence au film "The Monuments Men" basé sur l'ouvrage de Robert Edsel, aux révélations du journal "Le Figaro", au catalogue de l'exposition "Œuvres volées, destins brisés" et au travail de Rose Vallant, conservatrice et archiviste du Jeu de Paume à Paris, grâce à qui plusieurs œuvres d'art volées ont été retrouvées. La restitution des ces œuvres, après 70 ans, est un réel casse-tête.

We will take a safe route through Verdun, Lasalle and Lachine, then return along the Lachine Canal towards the Atwater Market and even Montreal harbour if energy is still there! Strange things started happening around 1900... The familiar melodies and chords of Romantic music were transformed into unsettling soundscapes, frightening but mysteriously attractive. Take the thrilling voyage from Brahms to Schoenberg, through Bax and Morawetz, ending up with a new work written for VivaVoce by Nicolas Gilbert.

In the spring of 2005, acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic on a tricky assignment for National Geographic: to capture images to help tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate. Even with a scientific upbringing, Balog had been a skeptic about climate change. Chasing Ice is the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing planet.
