Dr. Krist Muis, Associate Professor, in the the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology recently received the Richard E. Snow Award from the American Psychological Association, divison 15 (Educational Psychology).
The Richard E. Snow Award is given to an individual who has made a significant early career contribution.

The recipient of this year’s “Article of the Year Award”, is Amanda Saxe, a Ph.D. student supervised by Dr. Tara Flanagan. We would also like to acknowledge the work of Amy Shapiro, Ph.D. student, who is the recipient of an honorable mention award.

Dr. Jeffrey Derevensky, Professor, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology was recently honored with the 2013 Scientific Achievement Award from the U.S. National Centre for Responsible Gambling. This award was in recognition of Dr. Derevensky's contributions to the field of research on youth and adolescent gambling.
Dr. Nathan Hall, Assistant Professor, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology was recently awarded two grants from Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
Sara Houshmand, doctoral student in Counselling Psychology, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received McGill University’s inaugural Award for Equity and Community Building! This Award recognizes staff and students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to diversity and inclusivity at McGill and the community-at-large.

Stephanie Mitelman, course lecturer in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology was awarded the 2013 First Tracks Award for Innovation in Sexology! The honor was awarded by Honest Exchange, a New Jersey-based sexuality education consulting firm. The award recognizes Stephanie's ground-breaking sexuality education resources that address the learning styles of youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs).
