For his outstanding work as immersive mix engineer on the album (Alicia), Prof. George Massenburg receives the GRAMMY for Best Immersive Audio Album.
Congratulations to Farm Management and Technology’s Caitlin MacDougall who has been named Quebec 4-H Volunteer Leader of the Year. Caitlin is currently on educational leave pursuing a Global MBA Candidate at EDHEC Business School in France.

Earlier today, a Quebec based consortium of research institutes (Génome Québec, Oncopole and IVADO) announced the winners of their first-ever “Omics Data Against Cancer” competition, and McGill research teams were dominant. In fact, of the five selected teams no less than four of them included professors from McGill.
Dr. Hanadi F. Sleiman has been selected as a recipient of the COTTRELL SEED (Singular Exceptional Endeavors of Discovery). This honor carries with it an award of $50,000 to support the very first instances of highly creative projects. The Cottrell SEED Award, part of the competitive Cottrell Plus Awards of the Research Corporation (USA), recognizes outstanding teacher-scholars who engage in innovative activities to enhance their teaching or research programs. The research project supported by this award in Dr.
Dr. Hamed Rafezi post-doctoral fellow and his supervisor Professor Ferri Hassani were awarded the prestigious “The DiPierro Innovation Fellowship award ($50000)” by Engine,the Faculty of Engineering of McGill University.
Congratulations to ECE Graduate Catherine Vanasse Grosdidier on being awarded one of the two Governor General's Silver Medal at this year's graduation ceremony. The Medal is bestowed upon the graduating student who obtains the highest academic standing in a Bachelor degree program across McGill.
Catherine completed her B.Eng (Honours) degree while also serving as the President of the ECE student society, ECSESS, (Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering Student Society).
McGill University astrophysicist Matt Dobbs is the recipient of the 2019 Killam Research Fellowship in Natural Sciences.
The announcement was made today by the Canada Council for the Arts, which revealed this year's winners of the prestigious Killam Program, composed of the Killam Prizes and the Killam Research Fellowships.
