The Office of Research and International Relations officially changed its name to the Office of Research and Innovation (R&I), as of June 1, 2016.
The International Relations division, previously located in the Office or Research and International Relations (now the Office of Research and Innovation) has been moved to the purview of the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic).

Research and International Relations is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. R. Anne McKinney as Associate Vice-Principal, Research and International Relations (AVP-RIR), with a term beginning January 1, 2016 and ending December 31, 2018.
The Office of the Vice-Principal, Research and International Relations, and Office of Sponsored Research will be closed from December 24, 2015 to January 4, 2016.
Dr. Christina Wolfson, Professor in the Department of Medicine and in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Occupational Health, has been appointed McGill’s new Deputy Research Integrity Officer, commencing on January 1, 2016. Effective June 1, 2016, Dr. Wolfson will become McGill’s Research Integrity Officer for a three-year term, ending May 31, 2019.

Mathematica, from Wolfram Research, is a powerful computational software used for mathematical modeling and data visualization. McGill IT Services has been providing Mathematica to Faculty & Staff, and in computer labs across the University for the past few years. I am writing to draw your attention to a change in the way the Government of Quebec will distribute indirect research funds to institutions.
Previously McGill, like other Quebec institutions, received an envelope each year for applicable indirect costs, based on Système d’information sur la recherche universitaire (SIRU) reporting. However, starting April 1, 2014 and as a result of the Politique nationale de la recherche et de l'innovation (PNRI), the Quebec government is now allocating indirect costs via two separate mechanisms:
