Conservation-minded people might be unaware of this, because of the media’s longstanding focus on land-based ecosystems and charismatic animals.

The Redpath Museum at McGill University will re-open its doors on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
The Museum will welcome visitors Tuesday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm.
In advance of the re-opening on January 10, the Museum will begin taking bookings for group tours and school visits from December 19, 2022.

Canadian scientists will contribute to assessing and addressing climate change thanks to a new satellite mission that has received more than $200 million from the Canadian federal government. Alfonso Mucci, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, has been elected an American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fellow. He joins 53 other individuals in the 2022 Class of Fellows. AGU, a nonprofit organization that supports 130,000 enthusiasts to experts worldwide in Earth and space sciences, annually recognizes a select number of individuals as part of its Honours and Recognition program. Since 1962, the AGU Fellows Committee has selected less than 0.1% of members as new Fellows.
