Usman W. Chohan, a graduate of Desautels MBA in Strategy and Leadership (2014) delivered the 2015 Foreign Affairs Lecture in the Global Leadership Program (GLP) at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. The lecture was titled "The World Bank and the New Dynamics of Development", and drew on Mr. Chohan's WB experience to map the development field, particularly in the context of emergent institutions such as AIIB. The lecture was praised for its cultural context, appeal to a young audience, and breadth of content.

Joanne Liu has treated patients in the most dangerous parts of the globe as a Médecins Sans Frontières doctor. Now, as MSF’s international president, she is holding the world’s leaders to account for the way they handle medical crises.

The body of a six-year-old Syrian refugee is on the cover of every newspaper arrayed in the lobby of the Montreal restaurant where Dr. Joanne Liu, international president of Médecins Sans Frontières, has just arrived.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of H. Arnold Steinberg, McGill Chancellor Emeritus. Mr. Steinberg died suddenly this morning in Montreal. He was 82 years old.
... A lifelong Montrealer, Arnold graduated from McGill with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1954. His education was only the beginning of his deep relationship to McGill University.

Over the years, some economists carried out laboratory experiments and argued that people are inconsistent in ways they assess risks and probabilities. They concluded that it is misleading to rely on other economists’ view of risk, and that economics cannot be separated from psychology. This field of study is known today as “behavioral economics” (Kahneman and Tversky its founders), which, as briefly shown here, is neither “behavioral,” nor “economics,” nor makes sense.

Usman W. Chohan has an MBA from Desautels (2014) in Strategy and Leadership. He has served as a consultant at the World Bank Institute (WBI), and as Special Situations Analyst in Global Equities at Natcan Investment Management, investment arm of the National Bank of Canada. He has been a participant in various important climate initiatives in 2015 including the Pacific Island Development Forum (PIDF) 3rd Summit in Suva, Fiji.
