La voix a révélé des artistes plus éclectiques que ceux de Star Académie. Des « enfants du millénaire » bilingues qui ont attendu de gagner en maturité artistique plutôt que de sortir un album rapidement après leur passage à l'émission. Voici trois artistes pour qui l'intégrité passe avant la visibilité: Charlotte Cardin, Matt Holubowski et Geoffroy.

Avant La voix, Geoffroy a étudié en gestion à l'Université McGill. Il a voyagé, travaillé pour l'étiquette Analekta, puis il a fait une maîtrise en gestion des arts au campus espagnol de l'Université Berkeley.

14 of the most influential women in EMS

With over 30 years of expertise in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Penny Price, IMHL’10, continues to lead change and advancement for heath care. She was recently recognized in a 2016 list of the top 14 most influential women in EMS. 

Price is the director at Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario. In 1999, she left Canada to become executive director of the National Ambulance Service of Qatar in the Middle East. Though there was limited ambulance service in the capital city, her role was to build an EMS system to serve the entire nation.

New Study Obliterates Hollywood Execs’ Excuses for Not Casting Black Lead Actors

For years, Hollywood executives presented the argument that Black lead actors were not marketable. A recent study done by UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, wanted to determine how movies featuring African-American actors performed at the box office compared to all-white casts. The results show that Black actors bring in much more money than previously believed.

Crucible

ASSANE GUEYE, a Senegalese-born postdoctoral researcher at America’s National Institute of Standards and Technology, is a student of systems. He studies the multiple networks of communications that hold cities together, and feels that a new scientific discipline is needed to describe these systems of systems. He hopes to create one.

Montreal's Pizzeria No 900 Adds Three New Franchises

The pizza that a Montreal food critic declared the best in the city a year ago is about to become much more widely available. And not just to Montrealers. No 900, the pizzeria concept from Dominic Bujold, the founder of Sushi Shop, and pizzaiolo Alexandre Brunet (late of Stromboli and Mangiafoco), will soon expand with three new franchises, slated for the Marriott hotel on Peel, the Faubourg Boisbriand, and Quebec City.

New Protein Bar Inspired by Surfing Culture

Venice Beach, long known for its surfing culture, is now home to a new food product inspired by those who ride the waves: Carve Bar. The company launched in mid-March and is currently selling its first product, a chocolate chip cookie dough protein bar, on its website. Manufactured in Oakland, two more flavors of the Carve Bar are on the horizon, as is mass distribution in Southern California.

Obama: ‘No difference between capitalism and communism’

History of Bangladesh: First Decade

The first decade's history of Bangladesh is most consequential but often politically coloured. This historical commentary is different in two respects. First, it recounts the decade through the lens of ordinary citizens whose perception is truer than reality in politics. Second, it avoids straitjacketing of history by simultaneously acknowledging the contributions of a regime and drawing lessons from its mistakes.
