(Tentative Date) Pre-departure Orientation is mandatory for all students traveling outside Canada for university-related bilateral exchanges, internships, independent study-away, field study semesters, research, clinical rotations and/or other such activities. Only students who have attended a Pre-departure session in the past are exempt.

Participants will take part in small information sessions organized by region, followed by a general presentation and refreshments.

Deadline to apply to graduate on Minerva for all undergraduate students and graduate students in all non-thesis programs (certificates, diplomas, Master's non-thesis) who expect to complete their program requirements at the end of the Fall 2016 term (February 2017 graduation).

NOTE: For those students able to change program information via curriculum change on Minvera, last day to make changes for the Fall term.

Deferred examination application begins for Law for Fall term courses ending in Fall 2016 term. Submit deferred applications to Faculty of Law - Student Affairs Office. Law does not use Minerva application.

(Tentative Date) Last day for students to request fee exemptions and to submit legal documents for proof of Canadian citizenship and proof of Quebec residency to Service Point for the Fall 2016 term. Students in Medicine or Continuing Studies should submit their documents directly to their Faculty Student Affairs office or the School of Continuing Studies. Documents received after this date will be updated for the following term only.

(Tentative Date) New students can obtain their ID cards once they have registered. The locations and operating hours of ID card centres on both campuses can be found on the Student Information website (www.mcgill.ca/students). Students must be registered for at least one Fall term course, and need to bring their McGill ID number, valid photo ID, and the documents used to prove citizenship status.

  • On Friday, September 2, 2016, the normal "Friday" schedule of course lectures, labs and conferences activities will be replaced by a "Monday" schedule to make up for a shortfall of Mondays in the fall term.
