McGill users now have trial access to The Electronic Enlightenment, a new digital resource from Oxford. EE offers online access to the correspondence of nearly 6000 writers including Addison, Bentham, Boswell, Defoe, Hobbes, Hume, Kant, Locke, Pope, Rousseau, Smith, Swift, Sterne, and Voltaire.

McGill Library has trial access until May 15, 2007, to the database Public Documents Masterfile, an index to over four million public documents (government documents). In some cases, the full text of the documents is available.
Between 1801 and 2000, around 9.5 million pages for over 184,000 parliamentary papers were published. Since 2001, the number of papers has grown by approximately 4,000 for each parliamentary session. HCPP delivers searchable full text for each paper, along with a detailed subject index.

Online trial access is now available to the Arctic and Antarctic Regions (ARR) database. This access will be available through February 26, 2007. Please feel free to give us your feedback on this resource.
On Sunday, January 28, an event has been scheduled for Open House 2007. The computer zone on Level 1 (main floor) of the McLennan Library Building will not be accessible from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Additional computers and group and individual study areas are available elsewhere in the McLennan and Redpath buildings, as well as in other branch libraries on campus. To return books to the Humanities & Social Sciences Library over the break (December 23 to January 2), please use the Exterior Book Returns Bin located near the entrance of the Redpath Library Building.
We are doing remodelling work on the 2nd floor of the McLennan Library Building (Humanities & Social Sciences Library) to increase the number of shelves. We are also adding more group study rooms on this floor, to meet student requests for this space. There may be limited access to the 2nd floor during this project from 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, through the weekend. Thanks for your patience during this improvement.
