Goal is to accelerate research and let patients know how their data is helping find treatments

A $6M grant from Brain Canada will fund the creation of a new Open Science patient registry, to share data with researchers around the world and let patients see how their data is used to develop new treatments for neurological disorders.

At the recent COP 15 conference in Montreal, Canada committed to protecting 30% of its land by 2030, but which areas are most crucial to protect for at-risk species such as the spotted turtles?

In a new study published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society, McGill University researchers overlayed maps of species at risk to find hotspots where many species live together. They found that hotspots often overlap.

January 3, 2023 | Intimate partner violence, after a period of decline, has been on the rise in Quebec and the rest of Canada since 2016, according to Statistics Canada. The report suggests that the Quebec government should establish a comprehensive legal framework to tackle intimate partner violence by creating a specific right to adequate housing under the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.

January, 2023 | Shweta Menon, an MPP Alumni, co-authored a research report on the pathways to economic and financial inclusion for youth aged 18-30 in Canada. The report summarizes the key findings from a literature review and focus group discussions held with youth in Canada. The discussion and the literature review were done with the aim of understanding how and why youth are excluded in Canada.
