This winter, the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship is hosting the 11th edition of the McGill Dobson Cup - McGill's official startup competition.

Over $5M+ has been raised to power the Dobson Cup in order to raise the bar and provide an even richer experience for McGill students, researchers, and alumni who want to make an impact with their innovative ideas.

Applications are now open and will close on Sunday January 16, 2019. In order to apply, a 5-page business plan must be submitted.

Montreal-based event planning platform Entr has successfully raised $1.3 million in seed funding from major serial investors who are seeing the value of their initiative.

Last year, Entr secured first place at the McGill Dobson Cup and were participants in this year’s Dobson Demo Days.

Montreal’s Centech, one of Canada’s oldest incubators that focuses on hardware and deep tech, has remained relatively unknown. And yet they have been instrumental in growing the business of numerous startup ventures, including McGill Dobson Cup winners Saccade Analytics.

Saccade Analytics has developed a software that can be embedded in off-the-shelf virtual reality goggles to evaluate brain functions based on eye and head movement. It’s a technology that can be used to diagnose abnormalities from concussion, neurological disorders or other causes.

2014 McGill Dobson Cup participant, Sonder, aims to bring together the very best of Airbnb and hotel experiences – and many are seeing the appeal.
