Earlier in the spring, Lauren Godfrey-Smith and Alastair Hibberd, two graduate students from our Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), were part of 11 finalists in McGill’s 3MT (3-minute thesis) competition.
The Faculty of Education at McGill University proudly saw over four hundred of our students cross the stage this past Thursday, June 2nd at McGill's annual convocation ceremonies.
Celebrating their finest moment were 429 Faculty of Education students who received a degree or certificate this year, including 297 undergraduates, and 115 students pursuing graduate studies. Counting the family, friends, and loved ones, over 1,600 participants celebrated convocation on behalf of the Faculty of Education this year.

On May 29th, close to 450 Faculty of Education students walked across the stage to receive their degree at the convocation ceremony held on McGill’s main campus. The Hon. Michael A. Meighen, Chancellor of McGill, opened the ceremonial proceedings with the colourful customary procession led by piper Jeff McCarthy. The convocation tent was filled to capacity with proud family members cheering on the graduates as they were ‘capped’ by Principal, Suzanne Fortier, before receiving their academic degree.
The annual professional development event Journey’s End—Journey’s Start took place Thursday, April 2nd with events in the Education building and across the campus. Focused on the themes of mindfulness and sustaining delight in teaching, the 2015 edition included five workshops, a reception, and a presentation by the keynote speaker, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) teacher Charity Bryant. As in past years, an inspiring closing address from Associate Dean of Academic Programs Dr.
The Faculty of Education is now accepting scholarship applications for undergraduate students. The deadline for all applications is April 1st, 2015.
Eligible undergrad students in the Faculty of Education are now invited to apply for in-course and graduation scholarships. In order to be considered eligible, students must meet the following criteria, in addition to any award specific criteria:
