Message from the Principal to the community

I have heard from many of you since the troubling events of November 10 on our downtown campus. Upset, anger, and concerns have been expressed. There is a worry that McGill is moving away from being an open, tolerant and safe environment.

McGill University has been named one of “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” for 2012, marking the fourth consecutive year that it has been included in this select group.

First conciliation meeting and others scheduled until October 26

On September 8, McGill’s negotiating committee met with the government-appointed conciliator. During this first session, the conciliator decided that both parties should discuss all unresolved issues, which should be grouped under different categories. The parties agreed to discuss some 33 issues.

McTavish Street reopens after flooding

To the McGill community: Conciliation begins today

On behalf of Michael Di Grappa, Vice-Principal (Administration and Finance) McGill and MUNACA are at the bargaining table today, with the assistance of a conciliator appointed by the Government of Quebec. This is the first of what could be a number of conciliation meetings, with the goal of reaching a negotiated settlement in MUNACA’s current strike.
