Susan McIntyre. A Lessons Learned Process for Meta-Organizational Activities
In whole-of-government or meta-organizational situations, conducting lessons learned processes can be challenging given the complexities involved. This talk will present a process that has been used with some success and through specific examples, it will discuss the common issues that have been identified in these types of collaborative endeavours.
Susan McIntyre is the Knowledge Manager for Defence R&D Canada – Centre for Security Science where she works with whole-of-government initiatives in science and technology (S&T). Ms. McIntyre has a Master’s degree in Library Science and has worked in scientific information services, communications, management and policy before becoming immersed as a practitioner in knowledge management in 2000. She led the After Event Report process for lessons learned from whole-of-government V2010 security planning and was involved in the Lessons Learned process for Canada’s whole-of-government engagement in Afghanistan. Her current areas of interest are in meta-organizational learning, lessons learned processes for public security S&T and building a SharePoint application for knowledge gathering and exploitation.
